How Many Houses do YOU want? Visualize Your Goals

One of the most powerful things that you can do in your life is goal visualization. Now, I’m sure that most of you guys have heard about the Law of Attraction. I am not an advocate of it, because, 1, I do not know much about it, and 2, it just sounds a little too fake. However, one tool that has been proven to work is goal visualization.

I do this on a semi-annual basis, where I spend maybe 30 minutes to an hour writing out my dream life, my dream day, basically the future that I want. I make sure to have a clear vision of what I want. If it’s money, I picture the exact amount that I want to have. If it’s a home, I picture the exact house, or the amount of houses ;-).

I remember reading a study that took a class of Harvard students, and divided them up into control and experiment groups. It was a 10-20 year study, and the compared how successful the students that they made write down their goals were, when compared to the ones that did not. And in every level, the students that wrote down their goals were more successful than the ones that did not. They had higher grades during university, and when they grew up, they had higher salaries, better jobs, and more prestige.

Writing down your goals and visualizing them makes it real. The key is to being specific, so that your brain will better be able to achieve a vision. By doing so, you are giving yourself a target. Too many people have big dreams, but they are not specific about what they want exactly, and so, they are shooting blind.

People say, “I want to be rich!”, “I want to be famous!”

How rich? How famous?

How do you want to get there?

You can be a druglord and get both.

These are questions that you have to ask yourself, not because you might go down the wrong path, but because you never gave yourself a path in the first place.

Take your goals and your dreams seriously. Only then, will you start seriously achieving them.

It’s that simple,

-Sam
