Everybody can, but not everybody will.
I was reading a book yesterday, and I came across a passage that talked about how it was impossible for a woman to get an education, a great career, and be a great mother at the same time. How women can not have everything, and that they must choose between being good careers and good motherhood.
Now, I would agree that it would be nearly impossible to be good at everything, but I would not say impossible.
Call it me being naive, but I believe that everybody can do those things, have a great successful career, and be a great parent. All it takes is incredible self-discipline, and probably self-sacrifice. Everybody can do this, but not everybody will. If you want to be great at everything, act like it. It has to be seen in your daily life, in your priorities.
If what you want is greatness, it will be nearly impossible for you, but you can achieve it. You just have to have discipline that reflects a level that is nearly impossible. You can do it, you just have to put in the work.
