For the longest time I focused on how to make myself work hard. I focused on perfecting how I made my goals, how I started my day, my inner monologue, as well as the execution of my actions themselves. Like a laser, I focused on myself, in order to guarantee my success. However, in my obsession of self-improvement, I forgot something major, which is what I shall be focusing on for the next few seasons of my life.
How do I get others to work hard?
My progress in life has been so self-centered, that I forgot in order to succeed in this world, working with other people will be inevitable. If I want to start a business, I will have to deal with people. And in turn, I will have to learn how to make people want to work, and want to work hard. This is what I am going to work on for now.
- Have a single goal that we all believe in, and can work towards.
I need to be able to give people a goal that they believe in. It needs to be personal to themselves, so they will work for themselves.
- I need to be able to use positive reinforcement.
If I award the behavior that I want from individuals, I will see more of that behavior. Simple.
- I also have to be able to allow people to work.
This is a little complicated. But if you are like me, you like doing everything yourself, because you don’t trust that people will deliver the quality that you want. It is times like these where you establish with the other person, the quality that you are trusting them with, and trust them to do some work for you. This frees up your time, and allows you to divert more attention to the work that is more important to you.
Well that’s all I got for now. I will keep writing this of course, but for now, Cheers~
